LAPET returns to Mexico City with new panelists and important discussion topics

The 15th edition of LAPET, organized by CMT, scheduled for 29 and 30 November in Mexico City, will make an analysis of PET market, the demand for thermoformed containers in Latin America and the impact of e-commerce on containers and will share the perspectives of local brand owners and packaging companies.

The summit brings together the main packaging companies in Mexico and the whole Latin American market, as well as end users, with the aim of carrying out an exhaustive examination of the trends that will determine the PET packaging market in Latin America in the coming years. A large panel discussion on ‘Prospects for product growth and new PET applications in the next decade‘ will be led by Arturo Parra Zapata, PET Operations Manager for Grupo Herdez; Sandra Evangelista, Purchasing Manager for Bic Mexico and Eng. Arturo Aguilar, Quality Systems Manager of Mega Empack.

Panelists will discuss how e-business has changed supplier relationships and the commitment of brand owners to the use of the RPET. The Colgate Palmolive Group will offer a session related to the ‘Impact of e-commerce on packaging design‘.

The summit will also be attended by Sonoco de México, the largest thermoformed packaging company in the country, which will share the ‘Advances and trends in thermoforming in PET containers for food packaging and concerns about recycling‘.

Another participation in the conference will be the presentation titled ‘Perspectives for the PET markets in Costa Rica and Guatemala’, by the Eng. Javier Shiffino Solé, Project Manager for Central America at PET Packaging Network.

With changes in the world supply and demand for polyester intermediate products, Nexant will talk about the ‘Current situation of polyester intermediate products in Latin America‘, highlighting the balances MEG/PX/PTA in Mexico, Argentina and Brazil.

In addition, Coca Cola Company Latin America’s brand manager for soft drinks, will share an important presentation on the ‘Development of beverage packaging: Trends and challenges‘, while it is confirmed that senior representatives from Mead Johnson de México and Graham Packaging will make key contributions to their respective sessions.
